My First Post

So I’ve been looking at Lego blogs online for a while, it never occurred to me to make my own. I’ve recently started using Instagram and soon realised that 90% of my pics were Lego related.

Having been a lover of Lego from as long as I can remember, starting with Duplo and moving on swiftly, I thought that an easier way to display what I’m doing is to create a blog.

So here it is, the very first post in what will hopefully blossom into something good.

I’ll start my blog with an amendment I made to one of the models that the Daily Mail gave away. It was a small ‘Creator’ set of a tilt rotor aircraft;

 As it sat there on my desk at work I couldn’t help but think that it could be more. As a child, growing up, one of my favourite TV shows, and Lego model inspiration, was Talepsin. More importantly, the Sea Duck! As I looked at the twin rotors of the model the Daily Mail had given me Andre red nose, I thought “I can do this!”

So with a few modifications I came up with this!

OK so a few more than a few, but the rotors, the nose and the glass are the same. It had been a long while since I’ve made something new and not just by instruction so I have proudly used this as my first post. The nose piece was turned upside down to give it he correct shape and it is the first time I’ve made something of this scale.

Using yellow ‘seats’ for the tails is something new to me and it was only by perusing other blogs that I ever got the inspiration to do that.

Let me know what you think. Have you ever had a small model and seen something different when you looked at it? Do you even know what Talespin is?!? If not, please find a picture below. I hope that this rough and ready first post leads to something more.
